How can I open .sdlxliff files from a computer folder?

I have Trados 2021 and I have noticed that I can only open .sdlxliff files in Trados but I cannot do that from any folders on my computer. This extension is just not recognised. Please help :)

  • Try running a repair through your windows control panel.  This should fix your file extensions.

    Run a repair installation

    1. Close all SDL applications.
    2. Open the Control Panel:
      • Windows Vista/7Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
      • Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.
    3. Click/highlight the relevant SDL product from the list of installed programs, e.g. SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1, and click Repair. For Trados Studio 2019 / 2021, the button is Uninstall/Change > Repair.
    4. Restart Trados Studio.
