False extra number error messages from QA Checker 3.0?

Hello there, every translation I do generates large numbers of erroneous extra number messages for items like those pasted in below. Can anyone explain why this is happening and how I can resolve it? Thanks!

pasando de 170,2 por 100.000 habitantes en 2013 a 481,9 por 100.000 habitantes en 2019.

from 170.2 per 100,000 population in 2013 to 481.9 per 100,000 population in 2019.

  • It's hard to answer this question unless you help us by showing screenshots of how the numbers/dates are recognised.  For example:

Screenshot showing a date '16 de abril de 2020' with the numbers 16 and 2020 underlined separately indicating they are recognized as two tokens.

You can immediately see here that this date is not recognised as a date because the number 16 and the number 2020 are underlined separately as two tokens.  In the meantime the translation has a date that is probably seen as a complete token.  If it was in the source it would be like this:

Screenshot displaying a date '16 April 2020' highlighted as a single token, suggesting correct recognition by the QA tool.

Like this you can see how the QA tool would think there is an extra number.  Now, in my example clearly the extra number is in the source, bt the same thing could easily be the other way around.

So perhaps take a fresh look at your segments with this thought in mind and see whether you can understand why the message is what it is.  It's also worth noting that in Studio 2021 you have much greater control over what will be recognised, so if you're using this version you might be able to fix it by changing the language resources on your TM.
