Hi
I wonder if Trados Studio always overwrites newly edited segments on the old and previous ones on TM or not and we need to check TM when we edit saved segments to avoid duplicate or similar segments?
We can't avoid and escape unintentional mistakes and need to back to saved and confirmed segments to check and correct a tiny mistake like extra space for a tag or whole segment and then save it again. I expect Trados Studio to be enough smart to recognize and save the new version of the segment over the old ones in TM to not have two or more almost similar segments. Sometimes I see, when I edit a segment and check my TM after editing immediately, see two copies of the segments and delete the incorrect and old one and keep the correct new one, but most of the time, it doesn't and Trados saves the new version of the edited segment over the old and incorrect segment on TM that's I expect. I'm confused a bit and I'd like to know in what situations maybe we get two (or more, depend on how many times we edit a confirem segment) versions on our TM and need to check TM manually to stop copying duplicate segments and just keep the most correct one in TM?.
Every time I edit a saved and confirmed segments, check out my TM in this case. The problem I'm describing, is just in one TM, not more during a translation.
Thank You!
