TMs and TBs in Studio 2021 - TMs shutdown randomly and old TBs simply do not work

I am having a lot of trouble with both TMs and TBs in Studio 2021. For TMs (which I have already updated, in line with the release notes), they simply close from time to time while translating, as if no TM had been added to the project. For TBs, Studio simply does not search for/ recognise the terms, in spite of the TBs having been added to the project and in sipite of the TBs having also been updated, as per the release notes. It only recognises new entries made while using Studio 2021. Any ideas? Needless to say, TMs and TBs are crucial for my work, and I would expect their integration with Studio 2021 not to cause this type of problems!

  • For the TMs, for those who are getting the exception error after doing everything that Alison and Jerzy suggested (which was my case), I suggest (where feasible!) to export their old TMs from wihin Studio 2021 to tmx files, create new TMs in Studio 2021 and import the tmx files. Then, create new project templates in Studio 2021 and add the new TMs.

For TBs, if terms continue not to show in the term recognition window after creating "new" TBs in Multiterm 2021 using data from the old TBs and adding them to a Studio 2021 project template (which is my case), the only way I found to work around it was to go to Projects Settings/Termbases and then do "OK" again (even when the TBs appear as "Enabled", every time you open your file for translation.
