Sounds as though you missed some control tags.  I suggest you turn on the formatting tags and look at your translation in Studio for the location of where the font changed in the document.  Then place the missing tags.  Easiest way to turn on formatting tags is to use Ctrl+Shift+H in the editor view.  If you want a more permanent way then I suggest you change your settings here as follows:

Thanks  alot  Paul for your reply , i did what you mentioned , but still the problem existent , the text shifted up and  source and target not identical in layout ,after translation (first page contains words shifted from page 2 ) ?!! i have to work maually to make the target layout same as source ..

was the source a PDF? Why you have explained doesn’t just happen for no reason. If you have correctly placed all the tags then it seems likely you are working with a pdf and this is converted to Word. The final document may require additional clean up work because this is the nature of PDF conversion when it was created from a poor source.

if the source wasn’t a pdf can you provide the original source and the translated sdlxliff?

NO , its  word file  , even i tried other word files and the same , below the source pages 52 and the  words 12089

and  below the target  41 pages  after translation and the words count 10512

FYI  ,  there is  header and footer  for each page

In Studio, go to File -> Advanced save -> Save source as and then check, if the untranslated source differs from the file you started with.

If it differs, there are problems in the file. In that case try to use a different format, like doc instead of docx. If it however does not differ, the problem is in the formatting of your translation.

A small hint: in Word and Studio show all non-printable characters to see also page breaks, line breaks, tabs and so on. Additionally, in Studio go to File -> Options -> Editor and select "show all tags, but do not show any formatting" to make sure you have NOT missed any formatting when translating, which is very likely when using machine translation.
