How can I get pretranslated text from TM from a file that got corrupted just before finisging the translation, into a new uncorrupted version of the file?

Question

Hello. I have translated a file, that was part of a World Server package (with about 10 files together), but shortly before I finished that file, it got corrupted and refused to open - with a "sequence contains no elements" error message. The text in that file was almost done, I only needed to do some final tweaks, when this happened. And since it is a pretty long text (approx. 2500 word), I don&acute;t want to lose time and money by translating it again. Someone here advised me to use the TM, to fill in the previously translated text, to a newly opened uncorrupted version of that file. But unfortunately I do not know how to do that, I have never worked with TM "manually", it always just came to me in a complete World Server package from the client, I unpacked it, translated and sent it back as a return package, with the TM working automatically in the background, and without me doing anything "manual" with the TM. So can you please give me advice where and how to find the text in the TM and how to put it to a new and uncorrupted version of the file? Thank you very much in advance.

 Here are instructions on the ways you can create a project manually/locally:

 If you're using an earlier version than Studio 2021, select the appropriate version from the dropdown menu box near the top.

 Ah, ok, then you can't create a project but you can translate a single file using the TMs that you have found. 
 Here is a list of what you can do with the Starter version compared to Freelance and Professional versions:

 And here is an explanation of how to use the Starter version: 
 Starter and Express editions 
 There you will see a second entitled 'Single-File translation workflow in Starter' 
 You can find the file you wish to work with then select the translation memory you used and any termbases that were also in the project package. 
 It's always useful when asking for help, to state which version you're using.

 I hope it all works out for you - there is one thing to check first and that is to be sure that the file itself is not corrupt. 
 To do this, as soon as you've set up your translation and have your SDLXLIFF file open, see if you can produce a target file before you do the work. 
 This is done via File>Save Target As (if the Starter version allows this... I don't know). Alternatively it can be selected from the Batch Tasks list in the Files View... 
 
 Again, if this is permissible with the Starter version. 
 If one of those methods does normally work in the Starter version but you instead get an error message to say that it is not possible to generate a target file, then the original file needs some work to make it stable.
