Hi folks,
I used to use Studio 2017 but recently upgraded to Studio 2019. In both versions, whenever I make project packages including a TM, the packages are far too large to use or send to freelancers (over 1 million KB in size). This doesn't happen when my colleagues do the same, despite us using the same TM and same settings.
Any idea how I can troubleshoot this?

1. Create a copy of your project package. CTRL+C followed by CTRL+V in Windows Explorer. Use only the “copy” file in the following steps.
2. Change the extension from SDLPPX to ZIP.
3. Open the ZIP file.
4. Navigate through the folders and notice the files really big.
Send this procedure to your colleagues and find out the differences in file size.
Just out of curiosity, let us know, please.
FYI: TMs can be really big. Same thing about termbases holding many images.

Thanks for your reply. I followed the steps and I got the results:
We both have the exact same size files (incl. very large TMs) within in our ZIP project packages. But in the un-ZIP versions, my package is millions of KB in size while my colleague's is just hundreds of MB in size.
So, I think there is a problem in compressing the package when processing it.
Any further suggestions on how to fix this?

Does your package contain Termbases? If so, do these termbases contain images? Images like jpg and png usually don't have a lot of redundancy, so they can't be compressed any further.

Any difference in file and/or file size between files inside the 2 ZIP files (yours and your colleague)?
Maybe in your ZIP there is a TM or termbase that is not present in the other ZIP?
I don't think there is a problem with zipping, but something related with the contents of the packages, I mean the ZIP files.
That's what I meant by my response above: the files inside the ZIP files are all the same size, and we used the same TM and termbase....
Could you please confirm that you're using Windows 10 operating system?
