The same old story: "Unexpected exception when initializing view part Fragment Matches"

I get the "Unexpected exception when initializing view part Fragment Matches" every couple of days. I know how to rectify it but it takes time and starting to drive me mad. How come the SDL support have been aware of the bug for years and they don't even try to press the programmers to sort it out? I'm pretty sure hundreds of Studio users all over the world suffer the same pain and the SDL supports pretend everything is just fine. Could you wake up please?

  • Hello @KRZYSZTOF PĘTLAK,

If you are applying the following solution https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0034055

(clearing the temp folder/deactivating UAC and resetting Studio) we wouldn't expect the issue to keep arising as appears in this particular case.

Can you please let me know which version of Studio/Windows you are using please and also check that Studio/MultiTerm is also added to your AntiVirus 'exceptions list'

If this happening to you on a regular basis, perhaps you could provide the Windows log files (Event Viewer) that could show us what is happening.

  • Hi Steven,

Well, every time my Studio crashes I simply delete the "UserSettings" XML file  - that's the only way to sort it out. Once I do that, Studio gets up and running again for a couple of days, but I have to enter my personal customized settings every time it happens. And then, it happens again. It's very annoying. Looks like something happens to the "UsersSetting" file every now and then (unfortunately, I haven't noticed any regularity),  like I think the file is somehow modified by the Studio itself, falling into a self-destructive vicious circle. I'm using WIN10 and Studio 2021.
