"You have set up different translation memories or automated translation providers for certain language pairs." Except I have not.

Hi All,

I'm aware this has been asked in a similar way before.

My problem seems different, however.

Basic problem: I cannot select any TMs in the project settings window, because this error message is shown. I can in fact check the box but the setting is not saved.

I have no TMs selected for any languages or pairs in File -> Options.

I have no TMs selected in the Project Settings Language Pair screen.

Any ideas what might be going wrong here?

I literally cannot select the one TM that the client has sent me with the project that is sitting in the /tm folder. And which is listed in Project Settings.

Cheers,

Ed

  • Hello ,

Perhaps if you could post a couple of screenshots to we can see what is happening.

Also check that you do not have TM's at different levels- (Project Settings-All Language Pairs and your specific Language Pair) as they should all be at the same level

Its also worth perhaps checking that there are NO TM's added in the File Options Language Pair settings.

  • Hi Steven,

Many thanks for answering so quickly.

Once I have worked out how to add images (why do all forums have to do things differently???), I'll give you an idea of the situation here.

Any ideas would be most welcome!

(OK, the Upload button was a link, got it now...)

So, here we have, in order:

    1. File | Options, all language pairs
    2. File | Options, German-English
    3. Project Settings, all language pairs
    4. Project Settings, German-English

I've only scrubbed some confidential text, otherwise these are just taken now.

As can be seen, there's still a warning on the Project Settings screen. I can't select this TM. I have even updated it to 2021 from 2019, but nothing doing.

Also: there is a greyed-out TM on the DE-EN screen in Project Settings. If I click the box at the top to activate this screen, then select and remove the TM, and then click OK, when I come back to the screen, the greyed-out TM is back (i.e. the screen looks like the screen shown here again). I can't explain this behaviour, either.

    Cheers,

    Ed
