That is very odd - maybe the issue is to do with the length of the word preceding the full stop - in your example it works fine where there are 3 or more letters in the word, but with "in" it is a two letter word. Alternatively maybe you have "in." as an abbreviation that is skipped for segmentation purposes.

See what happens if you uncheck "Check Abbreviations".

I followed your comment and you're right. Finally, those two sentences are divided to each segment now.

"in." is a default entry in the en-gb abbreviation list, probably in all en abbreviation lists. Unchecking that box means your abbreviation list is not checked anymore, right? This will result in many undesired segment breaks.

"After meeting at 5 p.m. John proposed we have supper together." will be segmented:

After meeting at 5 p.m.

John proposed we have supper together.

Etc. etc. Look at the long abbreviaiton list and see what all will now be segmented.

You could remove "in." from your TM's abbreviation list if it causes frequent grief. Or you could live with it and split segments as required. Splitting is less likely to cause corrupt files than merging, in my experience.
