A similar issue here, after installing the Trados update, the concordance search to the online server TM stopped working.

I did a "repair install" via Control Panel in Windows 10,. The local TMs (my own TMs on my pc) were working, but not the server TM.
The server TM was still listed as usual in the Project Settings, as enabled, so the connection was there. Only the F3 search was not working.

Error message "There was a problem while searching" and "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I have the same problem still today. It makes it impossible for me to accept jobs from certain clients who use a server TM. Will this bug ever be fixed?

Good morning, we encounter this problem too (SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 (Build 15.2.8.3007)) Is going back to the previous version really the only solution or will there be a bug fix soon?

You can still use Trados 2019 SR2 CU7 version. See this thread at the end for more info:

"Groupshare" is the server program used by the agencies, which they have to update to solve this issue.
Until they do that, the freelancer would have to uninstall CU8 and reinstall the CU7 version, via the download link provided in that thread.
