Perhaps you could post a couple of screenshots showing the project settings and the full editor view in Studio and let us know exactly which MT provider (and version) you are using.

This may help us identify where the issue lies.

Hello Steven, I am having similar problem to Karen West since I upgraded to Studio 2021 - the transation results window only shows the source text as a row and not the matches or track changes in columns (even when I am certain there are perfect and/or partial matches). I am under timepressure on a huge project and htis is driving me crazy. I have no TM tools working!

Hi! Yes, it is ticked. How about "Enable LookAhead"? It is ticked as well in my Studio. Should I disable it?

Hello again, disabling LookAhead didn't help. The 2 check boxes you mentioned are always ticked.

The point is: I have never changed anything in these settings and it just stopped working one day. As if there was some bug, I have no idea

Could you please rephrase your problem? I understood that the Translation Results window doesn't show any MT results when you set the focus on an empty segment in Editor. MT results are only shown when you select part or the whole Source segment and then press F3 (Concordance). Is that correct?

Also, please let us know your Trados Studio version and build, something like Trados Studio 2022, 17.0.4.13209. Which MT engine are you using?

Yes, you got my problem almost right, I guess. My Translation Results window doesn't show any TM results if I have some TMs pinned to the project. Even if I have already translated a segment and it can be found in one of the TMs pinned (even 100% concordance - whole segment!), the Translation Results window shows nothing, only the source segment. I have to select part or the whole Source segment and press F3 to finally see it. In case of fuzzy segments - the same, I do not see what I usually saw some time ago (which is the target segment suggestion with the changes indicated). Again, I only see the Source segment in the Translation Results window. I will find it then again be selecting some part and pressing F3, but with fuzzy segments - I have to compare the source and the target on my own... I hope I explained this sufficiently now.

My version is: Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338

And one more thing: with 100% segments I can see the pink banner alert about a different entry in the Translation Memory, but the Translation Results window does not show the actual entry, it's empty - no prompts at all... :(

Could you please post a screen-shot of the File > Options > Automation and your Project Settings > Language pairs > All pairs > Translation Memory […]. the same 2 screen-shots I posted here.

Olivia's issue was MT (Machine Translation). Yours seems to me related to TMs (Translation Memory).

I think I know what is going on here:

I've noticed the penalty (=1) in one of your TMs and I can repro your issue if I set 100 as the minimum value in your Project Settings:

So do you have 100 here? If so, you can lower it to something (such as the default 70). Alternatively, you can remove the penalty if you don't need it.

No problem if you select 100, but coupled with the penalty applied, the result is that there won't be matches from that TM. And that maybe is the reason of not getting matches. If so, there is no issue, just things work as they suppose to do with those settings.

Last, you can untick the check box Apply automated translation when no TM is found (my first screen-shot), as you don't use MT.

Please let me know if that was the reason.

Yeah, that was expected, because as I said it was not related to your issue. It was just to set your old settings…

Hello again, I'd like to let you know that I've just found the solution! 

Options > Translation Results Window > uncheck box "Show document source segment"".

Now it's finally the view I remember and need :) How did it get checked before? That will remain a mystery...

There is a difference between the settings via Options and the Project settings. I don't know the exact answer on the differences between the two, but it may help if you change these settings on a project level rather than all projects (Options) level, and lower the match values for the Translation (pane) and Concordance (pane) to see what happens.

Finally, thank you so much, Agnieszka! Once again, nobody really noticed that during Testing? No wonder MemoQ and Trados have been replaced by online tools; even though they are so much more powerful for us, the UI's quality is truly abysmal, resulting in very bad usability. And that's coming from a pro using them for over 10 years now.
