Studio 2019: Can't open TMs any more (System.Enterpriseservice.Wrapper.dll not found / failed to activate view 'Translation Memorys')

Since opening Studio 2019 (SR2 - 15.2.8.3007) today, I can't access or use any TMs any more.

  • Selecting a TM in the project properties or e.g. in the align document wizard gives the following error message:

Could not load file or assembly 'System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll' or one of its dependencies. Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden.

(Weirdly, the second part of the message is still in German. That translates as "The indicated module could not be found.")

  • When trying to open the TM view I get "Failed to activate view 'Translation Memory'".

I tried:

  • Repairing the installation.
  • Resetting user profile and Studio itself

I'd really appreciate some help, currently I'm totally lost.

  • Would you tell me how to get your or Steves name quoted the way, that you are automatically notified "someone mentioned you"?

    Just type the @ symbol immediately followed by the name and a list will appear for you to select.  If the name doesn't appear try a few combinations.  For example if the name is:

    Steven Whale

    Then you can type any of these:

    @steven

    @whale

    and he'll appear.  Sometimes the names are tricky to type because of accents or asian scripts... in these cases I often break the names up further.  For example, for Monica de Leon I can use:

    @nicade

    All kinds of combinations are worth a go.  With so many members duplications are prevented by the system.  Then you get the smart arse users like me who use a first name only...

    @pfil

    @filkin

    Sometimes hovering over the name gives you a clue... but not always:
