Can you send me your PDF?  I don't know how to explain what would help particularly well as you seem to have done the right things already but I can try and convert, clean up and get a clean source file you that might work?  Email pfilkin@sdl.com with the file if you'd like me to have a go.  Make sure you tell me what source and target languages to work to.

Thanks for sending me the files.  I sent three files back to you:

1.  New source file (DOCX)
2. SDLXLIFF created from my DOCX and pre-translated against your TM
3. A target DOCX (just to make sure it worked!)

 I did this:

1. Opened the large PDF in Acrobat Pro.
2. Removed all the pages you didn't need to translate
3. Saved as a DOCX directly from Acrobat Pro.
4. Opened the DOCX in Studio 2021 and pre-translated using the TM you sent me
5. saved the target file to make sure that worked

All seems good, hopefully that'll help you.

Paul, thank you. I have tried the bilingual file you sent and Studio keeps crashing. I have emailed you the error message. I am posting it here, as well, for future reference.

Some questions:

1. What version of Studio are you running?
2. Have you tried repairing it?

I'll send you a file for bilingual review just in case this helps you at least complete the translation and I'd be happy to create the target file for you tomorrow when you're done.  Not a permanent solution I know, but it may help while you get to the bottom of this.

To remove all formatting copy the content from word to Windows Notepad. Save as txt. Open this txt in Word and save as docx. Then translate the content and paste it into formatted file.

Or format just whats necessary (heading, list, table, bold, italic) and deliver that.

If you really need to work with the PDF:

• Select the whole text (CTRL+A)
• Apply ONE single font like Arial Narrow or similar to all texts now
• Apply automatic font color
• Adapt the Standard style to match the font and the color
• Remove all bookmarks from text
• Try this file

Hi Jerzy Czopik,

unfortunately this file consists of a long table across the 25 pages. 

I have tried a few tricks with the help of Paul, including resetting Studio, using the file he prepared for me etc.

I have also tried these files on a different machine, also running Win on Parallels (however, Win 7 in an older Parallels version).

So I have translated the RTF in Memsource this time (instead of the *.sdlxliff). The file still gave some issues when I applied filters, but overall I was able to do the proofreading and export the translated RTF. 

SDL support will assist next week. I really want to have a working SDL Studio because I absolutely adore it.

A long table shouldn't be a problem. Maybe copying the table to Excel would have been helpful?

You could also copy the table to a text file and translate it as a tab delimited file. Afterwards a conversion to table with tabs as delimiters should be possible.
