I'm not aware of any plans to deprecate this. Patrik Mazanek would be the best person to ask.
More importantly... why are you asking a question like this? Have you some reason to think we'd adopt a different approach?

I reckon 1.0 and 2.0 are supported. Not sure about 3.0. Again, Patrik Mazanek is the best person to answer this.

why are you asking a question like this?
I am thinking about changing the way I handle XML files in our organization, and to write the XSLT scripts to get a good preview would be quite an investment - I would not want to do this if it's not supported anymore anytime soon. Happy to hear there are no such plans.
I reckon 1.0 and 2.0 are supported.
