There are a number of ways to anonymize your data- from renaming your PC (which I think most users wouldn't want to do) to changing your user profile within Studio

However, I think the best option would be to use the SDL Data Protection Suite- that is specifically designed to protect personal data (and its free on the SDL App Store)

Many thanks for your reply.

However:

1. The profile change makes no difference to e.g. comments, which continue to use the Windows username.

2. Does the SDL Protection Suite handle this automatically or do I have to apply this for every project? That was the problem with the Anonymizer I've used before.

Just updating this: the SDL Data Anonymisation Suite is for translation memories.

There is no way to change the username as used e.g. for comments except to use the Anonymiser.

Which has to be done for every single project returned.

Not exactly user-friendly. This needs to be added as a proper feature, not a workaround. I'll see where I can submit this as a feature request.

It really should be already done, given the importance of privacy.

As a last reply, just to add the choice bit of information that Trados copies the Windows username internally, once.

If you then change your Windows username (if you are a local admin for example), Trados does not use it, but continues to use the old username it copied earlier.

Sorry, but that is some really lazy programming.

Need to be able to set the user name in Trados. All my reviews are marked with the windows username. 
I dont have to change my username for a .... CAT tool! And I need to differentiate my review from others, as well as comments.
