Bug with AutoCorrect expansion

This started happening with SDL Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.4.4184.

Let's suppose we have an entry in AutoCorrect where one character is set to expand to a word.

In this example, the letter γ is set to expand to γιατί.

Now, normally when typing a shortcut, for the expansion to trigger one has to hit Enter. This is not the case now. And not only that, but let's say I want to type the word για, it will be expanded to γιατί causing havoc. You can watch the video.

  • Hi

Thank you for your very clear detail. I can most certainly see what your concerns are.

I have the option "Replace text as you type" enabled under AutoCorrect - yet I am unable to reproduce any of the issues you described.
I also took a look at the support channels to see if this is an issue felt by the wider user group. As it stands today I cant find any previous history over this.

I know this is far from helpful, even more so as there is no short cuts that control AutoCorrects behaviour apart from the one I mentioned above.

I can only but recommend we try repair Studio via : Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features
If that fails then there are some base settings that we can restore, in the event they become corrupted

Please do let me know if a repair has helped, so that we can progress towards alternative means to get this resolved for you

    Regards
