Is it a DOCX file? Probably Trados Studio is doing well with tags, but I'd need the original source to test it.

I just need 3 sentences: the one shown above, the previous and the following ones. Copy and paste those 3 sentences in an empty Word file, save, close, zip it and insert it here. Thanks!

It's weird because it looks that one closing tag moved to the right…

Are using Trados Studio 2021? Maybe it has some extra settings, but my bet is that it should be the same.

Did you prepare the project yourself? Could you test the sample file file you posted in a new project as I did?

still the same here. I created a new project with the default filetype and settings.

This is Studio 2019. The file came from the client, the project was created by us.

Could you please check that Trados Studio is updated in Help > About. It should be SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007.

If you press Browse, select your sample PPTX file and press Preview, do you still get the tags wrong? This is what I get:

The Studio 2019 version is SR2 - 15.2.8.3007.

If I preview the file as you instructed it does look fine. This is strange indeed.

What does this tell us? The filetype is fine but something happens when the file is prepared in Studio? Any idea what this could be?

Your screen-shot comes from Options, whose settings may be different than in Project Settings. So please do the same thing (File Types > Browse >  Preview), but this time from your Project settings, the one with the problem. Also please show your PowerPoint file type settings (I don't think those settings have anything to do, but just in case…).

OK, could we test one more thing in the project?

Please ensure nobody is working on this project, add the sample PPTX file to your project (I guess it has a different name, right?), prepare it, open it in Editor and share the results..

It's important to do this test when nobody else has the project open, otherwise it can get corrupted.

Once the test is finished, you can delete that file from your project.

ok, in the project it is corrupted again.

The only thing I could imagine is that it is a service release issue. We are all working with 2019 but not all of us have the latest SR installed because of the TM upgrading issue (different topic). This project was prepared by a colleague without latest SR. But it also happens with projects I prepare and someone else continues working with it. So the only thing that is different is the SR. Could this be the issue?

I'd always recommend to use the latest Service Release available.

How did you create the project above that failed as well. I mean, did you translate it as a single document, did you use a project template or the default SDL template…? Maybe you're using old or corrupted templates… This might be the problem, based on the fact that the problem doesn't seem isolated. Also SDL recommends creating project templates from scratch with every new version of Trados Studio installed. So if you don't follow this guideline, you can end up with old project templates… The way to prove this is creatings new project templates and use them everytime. Test the new project template and if the issue doesn't show up, then the problem was the project template.

This is the last thing I can try, I guess. Could you please send me your PowerPoint file type in your project settings?

P. S.: If the Export settings buttons is greyed out, it means that you've got he default settings, so never mind.

The project above was created with default SDL template. We only use templates for some customer projects, but not this customer and not this project.. But this is certainly something we could check, whether the templates we use are updated to the latest version or new.

The PowerPoint file type is the default one, so changes to the settings made (export button is greyed out).

So we will have to do some more testing to find out what the problem is.

You can start with your default templates. They are in:

C:\Users\[user]\Documents\Studio 2019\Project Templates\

Close Trados Studio, rename this folder Project Templates to Project Templates FOO and restart Trados Studio (new fresh templates will be created). And try again…
