Smart Quote issue in FR-CA since updating to SR1 - 16.1.4.4184

I made the mistake of mentioning 2 issues within the same post a couple weeks ago and I am still waiting on a follow-up answer 10 days after clarifying the 2nd issue. I'm hoping to fix my initial mistakes by posting the 2nd issue by itself in – hopefully – clearer details.

I translate into French (Canada) and I have been using the Options > Editor > AutoCorrect > Replace “straight quotes” with smart quotes function since it became available. It worked fine in Studio 2021 until I updated to 16.1.4.4184. Now, if I insert a straight quotation mark before some text, the insertion point jumps over one character (forward or backward, depending on the surrounding characters) after the straight quote has been replaced. See videos below.

Please note that I am not referring to the non-breaking spaces added after the opening quotation mark and before the closing quotation mark, those are normal. I am referring to the fact that if I keep writing after inserting the quotation marks, the text is not being inserted right after the replaced character (after the non-breaking space for an opening quotation mark, or after the closing quotation mark) because the insertion point jumps over one character.

CURRENT BEHAVIOUR:

Screenshot showing Trados Studio editor with incorrect cursor placement after inserting straight quotation mark, cursor jumps forward.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:

Screenshot displaying Trados Studio editor with incorrect cursor behavior after inserting straight quotation mark, cursor jumps backward.

If I insert the quotation mark before a period, the insertion point jumps one character backward after the replacement (ending up between the non-breaking space and the closing quotation mark):

The insertion point seems to stay where it should only if I insert the quotation mark just before a tag.

QuickInsert would be a workaround, but not a solution. I hope this explanation is clearer and someone will be able to reproduce the bug on their end.
