TL: French (France) - All-uppercase acronyms become lowercase when the acronym is followed by a space.

Hello, I have noticed, in addition to a previous post regarding the addition of a space while using French quotes, that l'ONU becomes L'onu, for example.

I tried other acronyms, and the problem persists.  I hope this will be addressed with the upgrade mentioned as a fix for the problem with the quotes.

Many thanks.

  • Hello,

    I am running Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.4.4184.

I am using the US International keyboard for all languages.

Here is a screenshot of a target segment with the issue:

Screenshot of Trados Studio target segment showing text 'L'OEA n'est pas L' oea' with the first 'L' in uppercase and the acronym 'OEA' in lowercase, indicating a capitalization error after using Caps Lock.

In the example above, I start out in the target cell by writing my first word using the Caps Lock key. The first word is written properly. After I turn off the Caps Lock key and continue writing the sentence, here is what happens: I type lowercase l, followed by an apostrophe then switch to the Caps Lock key in order to write the 3-letter acronym. When I type a space (with the space bar) to continue the sentence, the lowercase l becomes an uppercase and the acronym becomes all lowercase letters.

    Thanks again for your help.
