It appears from your screenshot that you have the projects saved to an external drive.

Therefore, please ensure you are 1) admin on the PC 2) that Studio and MultiTerm are added to your Antivirus exceptions list.

If the problem persists, create a test project on your local C drive and see if this helps.

If this works fine, then we can be fairly sure its a connection issue with the external location.

The drive D is a partition of my SSD where I always place my file to be able to run separate backup images of my OS and of my files. 

I checked that both Multiterm and Studio opens without a Antivirus exception.

Since the New Local Project (Ctrl+N) open a frozen windows, I cannot try to assign it to my C drive. 

I am the admin on the PC, which is the New Surface Laptop 4.

I set it up as identical to my Surface Laptop 2. I have sent my Surface Laptop 2 for repair and will get it back later today and will run my test on my backup laptop as soon as it arrives, but I am puzzled.

I do not create a new local project often as I work on clients' packages or files, but I need that option.

Instead of using the shortcut- if you manually click on New Project-New Local Project does it still freeze?

I'm asking as its now clear you have a new machine and perhaps there is a shortcut conflict with another installed application.

Perhaps the Windows logfiles may shed some light on what is the cause (Events Viewer).

I am not using the shortcut - no difference if I use it or not.

I do not know how to use Event Viewer to create the logfile in this situation. Can you guide me.

Go to Windows start and just type 'Event Viewer'

This sometimes takes a minute to load 

Once it's loaded - Restart Studio and then check in the Event Viewer (both Application and Systems) for any errors and warnings.

You can also save the logs if these show errors/warnings.

I would also suggest doing a repair/reset.

By teh way, FreshStart seems not to be wrking on Trados studio 2021, I installed it from within Studio, got a prompt to run from the App folder and after that, the program do not launch.

I am still stcuk.

I deinstall Trados studio completely and did the reset as well and I still have the little errror windows (no error code) which freeze studio and I have to close everything down. My backup laptop is back and I reimaged it and it works normally.

I have no idea at this point about what to do next.
