If you mean the files in Word, so there is no possibility to do that out of the box.

In theory you could copy the source and target column to Excel and use it with Excel bilingual. This will however most certainly destroy the very sensible formatting of the file and, when copied back, the file will not import in Studio again. However, if you run the QA check and then apply the necessary changes manually in the Word file afterwards, this could work.

Thank you, Jerzy! I will try your workaround solution next time. When you say "Excel billingual", does that mean there is a feature in trados where those, properly done, can be made into a sdlxliff?

What Jerzy means is that you could open your Excel file and review it in Studio or Xbench.  But note he also said this:

This is because the sdlxliff you created will obviously be related to Excel and not your original Word file.

Another solution that might be better if yo don't wish to lose the formatting during QA would be to save two copies of the Word review file in a new folder somewhere.  Then hide the source column in one of them, then the target file in another.  Now align them.  This will get you an SDLXLIFF file that is at least retaining the way the formatting would be handled in a Word file with Trados Studio.

Once you are done you still have to manually update the External Review file.

Given this is your situation and IF the review files you received are Studio External Review files, you should speak to your customer and ask them to send you the SDLXLIFF file instead. If they came from another tool then depending on the tool they might also be able to send you an XLIFF to handle instead.  Generally I think these External Review files are not helpful for CAT tool users and when sending them a little thought should go into what is actually expected from the reviewer and what tools are they going to use.

Just one note: About speaking to customer, this is a fright train with 130 languages and at high speed, so not very flexible. Thanks again!
