I had to retrieve an old project that was not in my list of projects anymore, and when I looked for it in Studio 2021 project folders, all files were saved as PDF, not as sdlxliff, so Trados coudn't open them.

Sounds as though you are looking in the source language folder. That's the only place you'd find a pdf. To open the project you need to be using the "Open Project" or Ctrl+O command, and then select the *.sdlproj. That way Studio will do all te right thigs as long as you haven't manually deleted any parts of the project files at some time.

Thanks! That is very helpful. I also found out that for some reason, when I updated Acrobat, the program set up that all files should be open with it. Crasy. I had some help from a friend, and he set up Adobe Acrobat correctly. Thanks for your help.
