UPDATE: I can open the file in Trados Studio 2019 as a bilingual Excel with the file layout (designated columns) within the project settings !

I just noticed I have the same problem. It is with the newest Trados Studio 2021 version.

I get the same error message when trying to generate a preview of a bilingual Excel file with English as source, Arabic as target. However, it does not seem to be related to the languges, since I get the same error when trying to preview en English-English file.

To me this is clearly a bug, since with Studio 2019 it works perfectly.

It is worth mentioning, however, that I was able to create the bilingual Excel project nonetheless. Only the preview did not work.

I posted also in the Beta Group, Apparently the probelm should have been solved with CU5, but it is not the case (we have now CU8) . Let's see what happens.

I have heard of this Beta Group a few times now, but have not been able to find it. How can I join this group?

I have been able to test this and can confirm the issue

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one, but sad to know that this issue is still in there. Fortunately, I still have Studio 2019 and MemoQ. Not to be offensive but great to have other options.
