In order to help you we would need to know which file type you used - there is a default on in Studio as well as one in the AppStore. We would need to know which version of Studio you are using and we would greatly appreciate a sample file. The more you provide the better the chance of someone looking into your issue. Remember that most participants of this forum are just users - not paid RWS staff.

Hi Daniel, 

Thanks for getting back to me. The file type is just .json and the json file type processor is called: Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.sdlplugin. I am using Trados Studio 2021. I'm unable to share a sample file due to client confidentiality but I can send further screenshots to illustrate my point if required. I can see the missing strings in the json file when I open it up in notepad but I wondered if it might be something to do with the format of these particular strings which I can't see?

Hm, looks like the Supertext JSON file type definition is only compatible with Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019: https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/file-type-definition-for-json/561/

How did you manage to install it for 2021?

Hi Daniel, 

We had the file saved on our system so I just installed it that way.  It must have worked because it processed the placeholder text and turned them in tags when I applied the relevant settings. Is there one you can recommend that is compatible with 2021 please?

You don't have to install anything, it's part of the core product.

Thank you very much , I have managed to access it. It seems that the settings are different to that of the json file plugin. Are you able to suggest any resources where I might find instructions for turning placeholder text in curly brackets into tags please?
