When I save the target file my footnotes disappear, as you can see on the picture the footnote tags are available on TRADOS but missing in the target file. Any ideas? Thank you!

If you run the Verification (F8 shortcut), did you get any errors regarding tags? You need to have Tag Verification ticked in your project settings:
If t any errors, please correct them and try generating the target when the Verification shows no errors.
If everything is OK, please post the version & build of your Trados Studio application and confirm that the source file it's a Word document.
Hi Jesús, thank you for your answer, it is ticked. I have SDL Trados Studio 2019 Freelance Plus.
And any errors after F8?
Also, please post the build. You con check it on Help > About Trados Studio. Or better yet, please check that there are no updates available.

Could it be that the project was created by somebody else using Studio 2021? There is an incompatibility between Studio 2019 and Studio 2021: If you generate the target files with Studio 2019 in a project which was created with Studio 2021, the footnotes are not included in the word file. https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0026465
