Here is an idea that could work: Install SDL Trados 2021 and then reimport the old project like a new project. Then add the old TM from the old project.

Any thoughts?

In regard to ongoing projects, please finish the project(s) in 2017 and start new ones in 2021.

Please don't try and transfer projects between versions.

Thanks for the reply. Now I installed Trados Studio 2021 and have both versions running.

One more question: Will Trados Studio 2017 continue to work after I activate the license for Trados Studio 2021? Ideally I need about 35 days with both versions running to finish these two projects, but Trados Studio 2021 will have to be activated with the new license within 30 days.

It is absolutely essential that you do NOT de-activate the license in Studio 2017 itself (only process the upgrade in your SDL Account!)

If you deactivate the license, there is no way to retrieve this or reactivate.

This also applies, if the PC crashes or you try to install (2017) on a different PC)

So yes- as long as you do not deactivate 2017 - this will continue to work under the set criteria.
