I have a problem with Studio 2021 crashing when I want to open an IDML file; However, I have already opened such files in the past.
Here I do not have the chance to enter the language pair as the window closes.
The error message is : l'accès au chemin d'accès C:\\Users\Username\AppData\Temp\SDL_Wizard_Project_99de3f57-ec13-4103-aeae-3714e56b81a0 est refusé.
I don't know if this can be related, but I cannot create project packages with this Studio 2021.

Its always advisable to provide us with the full error stack, as this often provides valuable information-

It appears that you are using aq Freelance version, which allows you to create your own projects- but not project packages (PPX).
If you need to create project packages, to send to other translators for instance- then you will need the Professional version to do this.

We have the same problem. It happens when we open an IDML file in Trados 2021 that was created in Trados 2019. I have the full Studio Version.
It just crashes without even a message box or anything.
And the folder C:\Users\Remy\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16 is empty. No log files or anything.

Only IDML. And only when the package was created in 2019
Hi, I have the same issue. I process idml files with SDL SR2. All the conversion process is fine, but after that when I open the sdlixff file, SDL SR2 crashed and disappeared without showing any error message.
I can only use SDL 2017 to open these idml projects without crashing. idml files make SDL 2021 crash a lot.
Before opening idml files for translation in the Editor view, check your Options settings.
In the "Formatting display style" box of the Editor section, select "Show all tags but do not show formatting." Then, you will be able to open idml files without crashing.

Thank you, I've spent half a day trying to figure out why 1 IDML-file from 7 of the same project was causing a crash without any message and your solution solved my problem.
