I've been working on a Word file with the MS Word 2007-2019 file type.
As per subject line, I was surprised that the comments I'd added to the sdlxliff target segments weren't transferred to my target Word doc. I went to file type settings and saw that the check box for this setting was unchecked. Surely this has always been checked by default?
Looks like it changed in 2019... not sure which specific version. In 2017 and earlier it was indeed set by default. I think there are good arguments for it being the default and for not. My guess is there was more users asking for it not to be the default, perhaps because of why they use comments. They'll appear in an export for external review anyway, but you probably don't want them in the final target file... most of the time!

Thanks, Paul. That makes sense.
I work with on-going projects most of the time so my file type setting is to retain comments (mine are invariably for my client, not for personal reference). This file is in a fresh project, which I set up with default settings. That explains why the comments weren't going through to the clean file then.
