I am creating a new thread because those more or less related to my question are years old. And I'm not deluding myself: I may get as many software names as answers; but if some consensus appeared around a given piece of software I would have reached my goal.
Every Studio user knows -- or should know -- that, even if it is feasible, it is not recommended to enter a *.pdf file directly into Studio as a source file. Studio (alone or with the help of some Canon Iris plugin I cannot find in the AppStore) will, as a very first step, convert it immediately into a *.docx file riddled with tags and poorly formatted, and, after a translation hindered by the tags, the *.docx target file will probably be a sheer mess compared with the *.pdf source file.
So the idea is a previous "manual" conversion of the *.pdf source file into a *.docx file that you can/should check and "clean" before entering it as a source file in a Studio project. And my question is: which piece of software will bring me both the best OCR and the formatting closest to the *.pdf formatting? I am expecting your enlightened answers
