I'm a proofreader and I always have the same issue with one freelancer: even though there's almost nothing in our TM, he will deliver a file in which all the segments appear as CM and/or 100%. This is really annoying because I can't filter the actual CM/100%.

I've asked our IT department, and they were not really helpful.

I'm working with SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 15.2.6.2831. I use this process: I install the original package to be translated (the one we send to the freelancer), and once the freelancer has delivered the file, I replace the xliff file in my Trados folder. I do that with all the return packages we receive, and I never have any issue. It's only with that one freelancer. I've also tried just double clicking on his return package to install the translated file once I've installed the original file, but of course I get the same result.

I'm aware that he's probably using his own TM, but the files we send him are new and he can't have anything in his TM from that specific client, let alone an entire project of 5000 words.

Usually, a file will appear full of CM when one has already translated it and then uses autopropagate to apply the TM results to the original (untranslated) file.

My question is: what does this translator do wrong and what can I tell him so that he stops delivering files full of CM?
