You might be able to train the Google engine if you use the V3 API.  Also use a dictionary.

Or... use DeepL which does offer British or American English MT.

Do you perhaps know of a link that explains how Google Translate's V3 API works and how/where one needs to set it up with Google and, perhaps, also with the MT Enhanced Trados plugin?

I am aware of DeepL, thanks, and would consider moving over to them, but they don't yet support all the language combinations I work with, so I'd rather wait until such time (if ever) they support a wider variety of language pairs (which I doubt would happen, as DeepL seems to have heavy ties to EU languages).

When you mentioned using a dictionary above, what were you actually referring to as far as either using/setting up V3 or setting up/adding a "dictionary" in Trados is concerned?

Where would I need to do that?

You need to read and understand because it's not really simple.  But Google allows you to use dictionaries, or glossaries, set up in your Google Cloud account and these are used by your AutoML MT engines to provide you with preferred terminology in addition to being able to train the engines based on your TMs.
