Hey all,
I created a TM that had a "semi-colon" segmentation rule so that it would segment at a semi-colon.
Now I am working in the same project with someone else's TM that does not segment on semi-colon.
Is there a way that I can re-segment (export-import?) my TM so that the segments divided by a semi-colon can be merged?
I am not very optimistic about the possibilities for this, but I thought "It doesn't hurt to ask."

You can. You will need to re-prep your old project you already translated with semi-colon as segment break, this time without semi-colon in segmentation rules.
You should also have the target generated from the previous project, and use that to retrofit. In theory, that is all you will need to recreate a completely translated project with the segmentation rules you need for the current project. You can update your TM with this recreated project, and that should be it.

The results of retrofit from our own experience would vary greatly depending on the content. segmentation and languages. If UI files or XLIFF files, segmentations are not going to cause a lot of difficulty, and we have had successes. On the other end of the scale is documentation projects with Japanese, where retrofit completely failed. Good luck with your project!
