Please navigate to the plugins folder (ensure Studio is closed before hand) and then delete the relevant plugins.

You will find the plugins here-

Now restart your PC and Studio- and install the plugins via the AppStore

https://appstore.sdl.com/language/- making sure that you are installing the latest relevant version.

You may need to enable the MXLIFF file type as follows

MXLIFF File Type now works fine after selecting the check box you mentioned. Comment View Plugin is also working now after removing the file from the folder and reinstalling it without restarting the PC. Thank you!
