Quick add new term not working in Studio 2019: error message: attempted to divide by zero

I'm suddenly finding I'm unable to add new terms to a glossary as I work on Studio 2019. Every time I highlight both source and target terms I get an error message "attempted to divide by zero." I've tried closing and re-opening the program and rebooting the computer, but no joy. I've also reorganised the glossary in Multiterm, all to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't think I've done anything different to make it stop working... This happens with both quick add and add new term.
Many thanks.
  • Hi ,

What Studio and Multiterm versions are you using? Please check the full builds by going to Help tab - top ribbon- >About SDL Trados Studio/Multiterm.

Also, try to export the termbase using Glossary Converter (https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/glossary-converter/195/) and import it back again.

    Does it help?

  • Hello Oana,

Thanks for your reply: I'm using the latest versions of Studio 2019 and Multiterm. I haven't tried exporting the glossary because the problem doesn't seem to be limited to this one glossary (which is working apart from adding new term). I experimented with another project (different language pair and glossary) which was working earlier yesterday and it now doesn't work either.

I'm going to try and reset Studio next (repair didn't work), but have a deadline now so won't be able to do that until the weekend at the earliest. I don't want to risk losing functionality across the board and I really haven't time to experiment more this week. Why do things always go wrong when you're up to your eyes?!

    Best wishes,

    Claire
