Should I keep Trados Studio 2019 once the 2021 version is installed?

Hello,
Can keeping Trados Studio 2019 on my hard drive be detrimental to the good development of the most recent version? In principle, I would like to keep it (mainly as a "spare tire"), provided of course that it does not hinder the full potential of the 2021 version. I have noticed that this one is six to seven seconds slower at startup than the 2019 version (26 seconds instead of 19 to 20 seconds).

Thank you in advance for your enlightened opinions.

Greetings

  • In case anyone else is looking:

Having 2019 still on my system has saved my tail in MultiTerm Desktop in the following situation: creating a filter that locks up / crashes Desktop (creating a filter and then selecting it in the main view, maybe with Hard filter selected, or not). Maybe it's just taking hours/days to grind through all of our entries but I need to be able to work. If I kill Desktop through the Task Manager and then restart it, it restarts with the grinding filter still set so I can't even get into the termbase. But I can open the termbase normally in the other version of Desktop (2019) where the filter has not yet been set and then delete the filter from Termbase Management and then re-open Desktop 2021 normally. Like I said, in case this is helpful to anyone.
