Translation memory upgrade takes way too long

Question

I am currently waiting for a big translation memory to upgrade from tmw to sdltm, which takes an incredible amount of time (and this happens quite often). As you can see in my video below, Studio is only using a few percent of my computer's power. Is there something wrong on my side, or is Studio simply not optimized to use all CPU cores?

When Studio upgrades a translation memory it also carries out a "clean up". So depending on the content of your old TM, and the size, the process can indeed take quite a while. Most TMs don't take too long, but I have experienced TMs that are full of duplicates, number only segments, heavily tagged, missing translations etc. that can take quite a while.
