XML strings added to target file

Question

Hello,

I am translating a package I received from my client with an xml file. The file that I am returning has extra formating strings - I think that's what they are: </string> and </languages>. I am the only translator working on this multilingual project who is generating this problem :-(

Can you help, please?

 You'll need to tell us a bit more about the issue. What does this look like in the editor? What version of Studio are you using? What does the target XML look like compared to the source? Which XML filetype in Trados Studio was used to handle the XML?

 Thanks for sending me the package. I am somewhat confused however. Why has this package been created using a custom text filetype to handle XML? The file is basic and the XML filetype handles it perfectly. 
 Anyway... you didn't provide me with the original XML, only your target and you have not explained what the problem actually is. If I try to recreate anything with the source I tried to recreate I don't really know if I'm using the right file or not. 
 I could hazard a guess that one possible problem relates to this? 
 
 If the XML filetype was used this would not happen as the hard return would be stripped. In fact if I create a new regex delimited text filetype and do the same thing it's stripped there as well. Very strange and I have no idea how this could have happened. 
 Perhaps you can explain what the problem really is and point me to it?
