One or more files you selected are marked as read only.

Question

Hi everyone, 
 I have received a project package containing one huge proofreading file (100k words). 
 When I double click the file to open it, I get the following message: 
 
 When I start working on the file, I can save the changes just fine and they are still there after closing Trados and re-opening the project. What does it mean then when it says "the changes will not be included in the return package?" 
 Also, it says "one or more files you selected..." - there is only the one file? So it is all read only? 
 These are the file details: 
 
 I have had a look at the other community threads concerning this issue but they didn't help. Also, the project manager is not responding. 
 Since it is such a huge file I would really to start working on it but I am a little scared that it might be for nothing? 
 Can anybody help?

 This may have been caused by your customer when they created the project package: 
 https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0038850 
 Ask them to do it again and make sure that the files are selected as translatable as explained in the KB.

 If it was me, when you receive the new project and it doesn't behave in this way, I'd update the new project from a TM created with the translations from the project you're working on now. Simple task.
