Bit of confusion here I think.  Do you want an XML, a TMX.. or do you simply want to create a termbase from this or import into an existing termbase?

Most likely the best solution for you will be to use the Glossary Converter from the appstore but I think a slightly clearer explanation would be helpful so we give you the right information.

thank you for helping me. Sorry, I wrote TMX in the text but I meant XLM as in the title. This is my situation: I have an Excel file and a TB I created some time ago. I'd like to import the Excel file into this TM. In order to do this, I usually use SDL Multiterm Convert 2019, which converts the Excel file into a TMX file. Then I import this file into the TB. I've already added some definitions to the structure of the TB ("source", "comments" and "grammar" ). The fact is that I do not only need to import the first two columns of the bilingual Excel file (A: German and B: Italian), but also the third one, which contains references to the websites where I found the translations. Is there a way to set this conversion in such a way that, at the end, I can import the new terms and the references to the source as well (see picture)?

At the moment, I don't care if the references to the source are added at term level or at language level. Maybe it is better to add them at language level, but it is the same.

Just one last question:

Let’s suppose that I also wish to add information on the meaning of the words themselves at term level, such as here:

In this case, it is sufficient to add the “Description” column (in this specific case) before the German column. That is, taking the screenshot below as an example, column A would contain the description, column B the German terms and so on… then the process you described in your video remains the same, right?

I guess the best thing to do is play with it!  It's pretty simple as you can see.

A good tip is to do this:

1. create the termbase in MultiTerm that you want with a few fully populated entries (maybe include some synonyms in there too)
2. convert the termbase to Excel using the Glossary Converter

Now you can see exactly what it will be looking for in terms of structure.
