This is almost certainly down to the TTX not being fully segmented before you started.  This is a prerequisite for most CAT tools because otherwise they may attempt to complete the segmentation using their own rules.  Sometimes this is ok, sometimes it is not.  Depends a lot on the source file.

So you need to fully segment the TTX before you handle it in Studio.  You can do this with TagEditor, Workbench or SDL Legit!.  The latter is preferable for anyone who doesn't have the old Trados because this is freely available from the OpenExchange.

I spent some time trying to make this work with SDL legit! this evening and I can't.  It works without fail using Workbench but not with Legit!  I don't know why but will have to spend some time working with a developer to find out why and see if we can fix it.

To make it work in Workbench I had to do a couple of things:

1. Add the ini file to my settings
2. Change the path inside the TTX to match the location of the ini file on my laptop

This correctly segmented the TTX.  It may be that SDL Legit! has been designed with handling source files and not correcting dodgy TTX bilingual files... not sure yet.  But the problem is one that should really be resolved by your client.  They should either give you the original source files and the ini so you can create the properly segmented TTX yourself.  Or they should properly segment the TTX in the first place.  They way they have done this makes it useful for translators using software that is already 8-yrs old and doesn't allow for anyone using a more upto date software to work with the files.  I think it won't be long before operating systems change so much that these old software applications won't run on them at all, and then they'll have problems.

To answer this question... the answer is no unless you happen to know a colleague who has one.  You could correct a single file like this in demo mode.  If you had purchased Studio 2009 when it was first released then you would have been provided with Trados 2007 free of charge.  But today it is no longer distributed or supported.
