Alison's advice is excellent.

In addition, for the future, I recommend that you make a full system backup before updating Studio and be prepared to restore your entire system if the Studio update does not work properly.

I say this because people have posted that repairing and/or uninstalling Studio sometimes does not work as expected. If all else fails, at least you can restore everything from a backup.

Yeah, making a full system backup is certainly a good idea. Nevertheless, it doesn't feel right beeing scared of clicking the yellow update bell... At least not for a paid software and not for the market leader.
