cannot add or create memory in Trados Studio 2021 trial version

Question

I've just started using the trial version today for a new project. I'm working on the client's server, but the "add memory from server" option was grayed out so they sent me the memory as a file. I've tried both adding the memory they sent me and creating a new memory and I get the "object reference not set to an instance of an object" either way.

Update: after so much hassle yesterday, the memory is working today. I did sign on and off of the server a few times yesterday, so I don't think that's why. Maybe the client found something that needed changing on their end, but I didn't get any notice of that.
