Request about the Progress bar in the Files View

The progress bar in Trados Studio is very useful to see how well a project is progressing:

However, I have one complaint about it.

If you mark even one segment status as "Translation Rejected", the progress bar shows 0% as shown above.

I believe if you only mark one segment for rejection, that should not imply the *entire* file is at 0%.

What do other people think about the progress bar and its functionality?

  • Hi Jesse,

I think this is because once you reject a translation the stage of the translation is deemed to be in Review. So if you only mark up one segment then this will reflect the progress based on one segment out of the entire document.

Maybe it would be good to have a filter display somewhere to show the progress of each stage.... might be useful where you are doing a little of both as you go along.

Ah, yes, that was why. Thanks for reminding me.
Having a separate progress bar for each stage would definitely help.
Perhaps there needs to be a better distinction between the translation and review processes though. For example, you only can use the statuses related to review when you "Open for Review". That would prevent someone during the translation stage from using those statuses. Anyways, I look forward to seeing how Trados 2015 has improved the review process ; ).
