Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.8.4404: Data at the root level is invalid

After updating to Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.8.4404 two weeks ago, we started experiencing the following bug with some Trados Studio packages (the packages themselves originate from two different clients and client systems). When opening a project package and then trying to create a new project package from it, we get the following error.

We tested installing an ealier build (the one we were using before we updated to 16.1.8.4404), and this exact same package works perfectly fine in that other build. We then updated that installation back to 16.1.8.4404 and the error reappeared.

As of writing, 16.1.8.4404 is the latest build available and we haven't found information on when the next one will be out. Has anyone experienced this same issue or have you found a workaround?

We would rather not downgrade all our installations if that can be avoided because it concerns a very high number of users, so we would also be grateful for any information about when the next build is scheduled to be released, and whether this bug will be addressed there.
