"Application not configured for LanguageCloud UrlsConfig" - Studio 2014

When trying to open SDL Trados Studio 2014,  the above fault message appears and SDL closes. This problem started earlier today, Studio ran without a problem in the past. The problem seems to be known, but I can't find any fix. Can anyone help?

  • Hi Isabel,

This issue might be caused by some temporary settings, that we need to reset. On the article below you will find the steps to do this. Try this with Studio closed.

Please try to do a repair installation according to the article below:
    http://kb.sdl.com/#tab:homeTab:crumb:7:artId:6625

    and

    Goto C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL, rename LanguageCloud.bin to LanguageCloud.bin_OLD.

Re-open Studio and re-login to Language Cloud. "

  • I'm having exactly the same problem. I followed the instructions above exactly, restarted my computer, tried to re-open Studio (same error message then Studio crashes), renamed TranslationProviderCredentialStore.bin and TranslationProviderCredentialStore.bin2 in the same way too, restarted my computer, and tried to re-open Studio again (same error message then Studio crashes).

Has anyone found a solution to this problem while I await Studio 2015? And I include disabling Language Cloud as a solution...

    Thanks
  • Further to my message above, SDL found a workaround solution in my case during a support dial-up: right-click the Studio icon and select "Run as Administrator" (maybe an SDL module requires Administrator access rights while the rest is happy with User access rights?). Anyway, it works now until I have time to completely uninstall then reinstall Studio and add-ins (the definitive solution found in the dial-up)...
