The project I am currently working on contains many files (more than 20).
I am concerned that some phrases or sentences might have been translated into more than a single expression.
Is there a way of checking consistency throughout the project?
I think there might be an app which can do the consistency check but not sure how to find one.

As a Trados Studio Freelance user, you can already check for inconsistencies - for instance checking whether the same source text has been translated differently.
There are a number of verification checks 'out of the box'-
Project Settings - Verification- Inconsistencies (for example).
You may also want to have a look the App Qualitivity
