Hello,
is there a way to merge all the segments that have been previously split into for example segment 4a, 4b etc? Trados can obviously recognize which segments have been split and the file is corrupt now that the segments have been split, so I wonder if there is a way to undo this.

You could merge them, but they won't be the same. The best approach is to recreate the project and pre-translate from your TM.
