TMX import - not all units are imported

Hi,

When importing tmx file into an existing TM, many units were read but only a few were imported. When we tried importing the same TMX file into a blank TM, all the units were imported. Is there any particular reason why all the units were not imported? Is it possible to find out what is causing this problem?

Here is the screenshot of the TMX import:

Screenshot of Trados Studio TMX import showing 'TMX Monthly.tmx' with 13393 units read, 2381 units imported, and 0 errors. 'Recomputing fuzzy index statistics...' is marked as done.

Any help appreciated

  • When you imported this into the existing TM' what where your import settings?

There could be various reasons for this, so dont necessarily treat it as an error.

The technology does not import segments if they are deemed "duplicates" - based on target translations.
In the meantime, if you have several examples of TUs that containing only recognised tokens such as numbers or dates - Studio will only keep 1 example format for each.

While the above are the fist things to check, may I ask if you are using custom fields in your TM?

I hope this gives you some peace of mind for your "missing" 11000+ TU's which I appreciate is significant
