Since the last update, the New Local Project screen, window for selecting Source Language, won't fold open, I cannot choose or enter a source language. This is a critical bug/issue as it renders Studio useless.

And to add to that, the file type I need to work on is not recognized in Trados Live so I basically have no way of working on this. Way to go RWS!
And your filetype is....

Ah... tbwint.xml... I know it well ;-)
Presumably this is something you have created a custom XML filetype for? Or if you're just hoping the default xml will handle it can you open the file in Studio? Just use Ctrl+Shift+O to create a single file project for that file and you'll soon know if the problem might actually be your file... or at least you can rule that out.

And you have a proper file type for it or used Any xml before?

This is the file the client provides and I've been working on these for months without any issues. Studio opens them just fine without me having to change any settings.
So you really never bothered with how to properly deal with xml files. But the Any XML file type has changed. As stated above, I suppose you are using outdated project templates.

If it works, I don't bother with it as I assume I'm dealing with it properly.
In fact you are not. xml files are not like Word and do not have all the same structure. It works, but this is not the proper way. Same as using a water pump pliers will allow you to untighten a nut, but most probably make it unusable for future.

Well, as long as I can deliver it translated and the client is happy and pays my invoices, I'm fine. Besides that, I can't even pick a source language before I choose the file I want to translate so I don't see how those two are related.
